About the Role
Software Automation Engineer IV
Location: Remote, East Coast hours
Software Automation Engineer to support the incident response SOC (Cyber Security Operations Center – CSOC) that will focus on building (design and develop) and implementing AI driven automation solutions through AI agents, AI powered workflows, and process automation to reduce repetitive work and enabling security teams to focus on high value investigations.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with various SOC Leaders, technical owners, and stakeholders to understand operational challenges and automation opportunities.
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions such as:
- AI triage bots
- Watchlist automation
- Incident response automation
- Security operations workflows
- AI agents and intelligent automation tools
- Build solutions end-to-end, from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
- Participate in architectural design and technical decision-making.
- Integrate AI and automation tools into existing enterprise systems and workflows.
- Improve SOC efficiency by reducing false positives, manual effort, and administrative tasks.
- Develop software solutions utilizing AWS services and APIs.
- Collaborate across security, engineering, and operations teams.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- 6-8+ years of software engineering, automation, or development experience.
- Strong Python development experience
- Hands-on development background with the ability to take projects from concept through implementation and production
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience working within GitHub environments and development workflows.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and integrations.
- AWS ecosystem experience, including services such as AWS IAM, S3, and Bedrock.
- Ability to build and deploy applications from design through implementation.
- Experience designing, developing, or implementing automation solutions.
Highly Preferred Skills:
- AI/Generative AI development experience, including hands-on experience designing or building AI agents.
- Amazon Bedrock, Claude, OpenCode experience.
- Architecture-minded developer capable of influencing technical direction.
- Machine Learning experience (not required). – Highly preferred
- Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or CSOC – knowledge/ background for understanding of processes – nice to have.
- Databricks or Snowflake exposure – nice to have.
