QA Automation Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through automated and manual testing. This role will work closely with developers, business analysts, and other technology teams to identify issues early, improve testing processes, and build scalable automated testing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web and software applications.
- Create and execute automated, functional, regression, integration, and API tests.
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform manual testing when needed to validate functionality and investigate issues.
- Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
- Analyze test results and work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Participate in requirements and design reviews to identify potential quality issues early in the development process.
- Build and maintain reusable automated testing components and frameworks.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
- Test application integrations, data flows, APIs, and system interfaces.
- Perform database validation and use SQL to verify data accuracy and integrity.
- Help improve overall QA processes, standards, documentation, and testing methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Monitor test coverage and identify opportunities to expand automation and improve efficiency.
- Support production issue investigations and regression testing following application changes or releases.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing automated tests.
- Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman or similar.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
- Experience writing SQL queries and validating data within relational databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
