Senior Business Systems Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to support a manufacturing organization in Illinois through a contract opportunity with the potential to become permanent. This role is ideal for a techno-functional specialist who can bridge business needs and ERP capabilities while working extensively within the Infor XA environment on the AS400 platform. The position will focus on improving operational processes, supporting users across core business functions, and contributing to system enhancements, reporting, and integrations.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to evaluate process needs and translate them into effective solutions within the Infor XA environment.
• Provide functional and technical support across key ERP areas such as manufacturing, finance, inventory, supply chain, sales, and purchasing.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain XA-related tools and components, including green screen applications as well as Powerlink and Netlink utilities.
• Develop and support AS400/iSeries-based solutions using relevant programming and scripting capabilities to meet operational and reporting requirements.
• Investigate incidents and service requests using established IT ticketing platforms, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with users.
• Assist with ERP enhancement efforts and system upgrade activities, including testing, issue analysis, and coordination with internal teams.
• Support integrations between XA and connected applications by working with middleware and interface tools to maintain reliable data flow.
• Create and refine reports and business intelligence outputs tied to XA and AS400 data to help teams make informed decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on techno-functional experience supporting Infor XA on the AS400 platform.
• Strong working knowledge of XA modules spanning manufacturing, finance, supply chain, inventory, sales, and purchasing.
• Experience using Powerlink and Netlink in an enterprise ERP support environment.
• Development background on AS400/iSeries with familiarity in CL and related programming within IBM midrange systems.
• Demonstrated experience supporting business processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to Infor XA upgrade projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with IT service management or ticketing tools such as JIRA or SolarWinds.
• Understanding of integration and reporting tools, including middleware platforms and BI solutions connected to XA data.
