About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Epic Cognito Reporting Consultant to support healthcare organizations in Des Moines, Iowa as they strengthen and expand their reporting capabilities within the Epic ecosystem. This Long-term Contract position is focused on guiding stakeholders to the right reporting solutions, translating business needs into effective analytics outputs, and helping users gain confidence with Epic’s native reporting tools. The ideal candidate brings strong consulting skills, hands-on expertise across the Cogito suite, and the ability to advise teams on practical, scalable reporting approaches.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with healthcare stakeholders to assess current reporting needs and translate desired outcomes into Epic-based solutions across the Cogito reporting suite.
• Advise users on the most appropriate reporting approach by determining when to use Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, Clarity, Caboodle, or external business intelligence tools.
• Support member organizations in recreating existing reporting outputs within Epic’s native environment while aligning solutions to operational and analytical goals.
• Lead discovery conversations, document reporting use cases, and serve as a functional liaison between end users and technical reporting resources.
• Build or guide the development of operational reports, dashboards, and analytics content that improve visibility into performance and decision-making.
• Train end users on how to create, maintain, and use reports in Epic so they can confidently manage reporting needs going forward.
• Respond to questions from members and end users, acting as a trusted subject matter expert for Epic reporting capabilities and best practices.
• Identify reporting inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and suggest opportunities for standardization or automation within reporting workflows.
• Assist with change enablement efforts related to adoption of Epic native reporting tools across participating health centers.
• Epic Cogito Fundamentals Certification is required.
• Must also hold at least one additional Epic reporting-related certification, such as Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, Radar, or SlicerDicer.
• Strong working knowledge of the Epic Cogito reporting suite, including operational reporting, self-service analytics, dashboarding, and enterprise data structures.
• Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into practical reporting solutions for clinical, operational, or administrative users.
• Ability to explain reporting concepts clearly, train end users, and provide consultative support in a high-touch stakeholder environment.
• Familiarity with Epic Clarity, dashboard development, reporting metrics, and operational analytics best practices.
• Certified Epic experience within EHR or EMR environments is strongly preferred.

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Epic reporting, analytics, or consulting roles within healthcare environments.• Epic Cogito Fundamentals Certification is required.
• Must also hold at least one additional Epic reporting-related certification, such as Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, Radar, or SlicerDicer.
• Strong working knowledge of the Epic Cogito reporting suite, including operational reporting, self-service analytics, dashboarding, and enterprise data structures.
