ITAM Solution Architect

ServiceNow is moving from a workflow platform with AI features to an AI platform where agents do the work. That shift only works if the assets, licenses, and costs feeding it are accurate and under control — which is the problem this role owns. 

The ITAM Solution Architect leads the technical design and delivery of ServiceNow IT Asset Management solutions for enterprise customers, translating business and financial governance requirements into scalable platform architecture. This role combines deep product expertise with the ability to advise customers on ITAM best practices, license optimization, and asset lifecycle strategy — serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle. 

What You’ll Do:

Architect ITAM solutions 

• Lead solution architecture and design for ServiceNow ITAM implementations, including Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and Cloud Cost Management (CCM) 
• Define data models, integration patterns, and CMDB alignment strategies to support accurate asset lifecycle tracking 
• Guide customers through discovery-to-normalization data flows and reconciliation processes 

Advise and lead 

• Give customers evidence-based assessments of ITAM maturity, license compliance risk, and cost optimization strategies — grounded in real current-state analysis, not generic best-practice assertions 
• Partner with delivery teams to ensure architectural decisions are technically sound, scalable, and aligned to customer governance requirements 
• Identify and proactively surface project risks, scope gaps, and technical debt to engagement leadership and customer stakeholders 
• Mentor Technical Consultants and Business Process Consultants on ITAM design patterns

To be successful in this role you have: 

Required 

• Practical experience applying AI tools like Otto and AI Control Tower to asset management workflows, with the judgement to know where they add value and where they don't. 
• Experience in IT asset management, software asset management, or related enterprise IT operations roles 
• Demonstrated experience architecting ITAM solutions in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise environments 
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB integration as it relates to asset data accuracy 
• Executive presence and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels. 
• A balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills, with a background in data governance, data catalogs, ontologies, business intelligence, engineering, or other technical fields. 
• A collaborative, one-team mindset, skilled at working across sales, solution consulting, and delivery organizations. 

Preferred 

• Familiarity with ITAM industry frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 19770) 

Certifications 

• Required: CSA and CIS-HAM or CIS-SAM, held or obtained within an agreed window 
• Preferred: CMA/CTA for architect-track candidates, and ITAM industry certifications (e.g. IAITAM)
