Application (Software) Developer

Robert Half is seeking an Application (Software) Developer for a higher education organization. This role will support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business applications within a primarily Microsoft environment. The position will have an approximately 50/50 split between front-end application development and backend/data work, requiring someone comfortable working across the full application stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support applications using .NET and C#.
• Build and maintain front-end functionality using HTML, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.
• Work with SQL to read and write queries and understand the tables, fields, and data supporting applications.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and support PowerShell integrations.
• Support the development and enhancement of mobile applications.
• Work with applications that integrate with Microsoft-based SSO and other internal systems.
• Collaborate with multiple developers on application development projects and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot existing applications and perform reverse engineering when documentation is limited.
• Work through complex and evolving business requirements while partnering with technical and functional teams across the organization.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on .NET/C# development experience.
• Experience with HTML, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.
• Experience working with and/or developing Python scripts.
• Experience with PowerShell integrations.
• Mobile development experience.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, including reading and writing SQL code.
• Understanding of how applications interact with underlying databases, tables, fields, and data.
• Experience working within a primarily Microsoft environment.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working with evolving requirements and limited documentation.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Additional PowerShell experience.
• Experience with SSO, particularly within a Microsoft environment.
• Experience with Azure or AWS.
