Sr. Workday Integration Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a senior integration engineer to lead the design and support of enterprise connections centered on Workday. This position is best suited for someone who brings advanced Workday integration expertise together with strong software engineering judgment across APIs, orchestration tools, and system interfaces. The role focuses on building reliable, traceable integrations, resolving complex data exchange issues, and partnering with technical teams to ensure business processes are handled correctly across connected platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Architect and deliver integrations between Workday and enterprise applications using APIs, web services, and scalable interface design practices.
• Investigate and resolve complex failures by reviewing raw request and response data, isolating payload issues, and correcting behavior at the interface level.
• Develop integration flows that include validation controls, dependable execution logic, auditability, and resilient error recovery mechanisms.
• Work closely with engineering and automation teams to support orchestration patterns through tools such as Microsoft Power Automate and related workflow platforms.
• Analyze Workday business process behavior, data relationships, and cross-system dependencies to prevent sequencing and data integrity problems.
• Configure authentication, security context, and connectivity standards to support secure data exchange across systems.
• Create logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting approaches that improve visibility into integration performance and operational issues.
• Ensure external platforms coordinate with Workday appropriately while preserving system-of-record rules, approvals, and governance requirements.
Requirements
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience building and supporting Workday integrations in enterprise environments.• Strong knowledge of Workday APIs, web services, data structures, and business process-driven transaction behavior.
• Demonstrated ability to inspect or modify raw request and response content to diagnose failures and implement effective fixes.
• Solid understanding of integration engineering principles, including validation, deterministic processing, retry strategies, and exception handling.
• Experience working with REST-based interfaces, XML technologies, authentication methods, and secure system connectivity.
• Ability to troubleshoot beyond platform configuration by applying software engineering discipline to interface design and support.
• Familiarity with orchestration and automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate and other workflow technologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues, root causes, and remediation steps clearly.
