Data Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join a 100% remote contract to hire position. This role focuses on developing and maintaining data warehouse integration processes, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in data transformation, warehouse architecture, and production support, along with a proactive approach to investigating and resolving complex data issues.

Responsibilities:

• Build, enhance, and maintain data loading and transformation workflows that feed enterprise data warehouse environments and related systems.

• Create scalable warehouse integration solutions while producing clear technical documentation and following established engineering standards.

• Contribute to data modeling efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams on reporting structures and warehouse design decisions.

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into effective technical approaches and implementation plans.

• Review solution quality through testing, validation, and design assessments to ensure dependable performance and efficient processing.

• Monitor production data warehouse operations, investigate pipeline failures or data discrepancies, and resolve issues with urgency to reduce business disruption.

• Work closely with development, quality assurance, and support teams to help deliver solutions on schedule across the full development lifecycle.

• Raise risks, communicate technical concerns, and provide input on specifications to improve solution accuracy and delivery outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in software or data development roles within enterprise IT environments.

• Strong background in ETL and data integration design, including hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts such as star schema models.

• Proven expertise with Oracle technologies, including Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse.

• Experience using Boomi or a comparable integration platform to move and manage data across systems.

• Familiarity with ingesting data from cloud-based sources and Microsoft SQL Server environments.

• Comfort working in Linux environments, including command-line file handling and automated file transfer processes.

• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, analytical, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced setting.
