About the Role
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to advance the reliability, security, and scalability of our engineering platform in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This position focuses on building a consistent developer experience by strengthening automation, deployment practices, infrastructure standards, and operational visibility. The ideal candidate will shape platform capabilities with a product mindset, enabling internal teams to deliver software more safely and efficiently while supporting enterprise growth and modern AI-enabled services.
Responsibilities:
• Define and evolve a platform strategy that improves consistency, resilience, and ease of use for internal engineering teams.
• Build and maintain CI/CD frameworks that support dependable delivery, stronger release controls, and reduced operational risk.
• Create and manage infrastructure as code solutions, including reusable Terraform components that promote standardization across environments.
• Embed security into platform workflows through automated guardrails such as secrets management, policy enforcement, encryption controls, and secure configuration practices.
• Develop release automation and progressive delivery approaches that improve deployment safety and accelerate recovery when issues arise.
• Establish observability capabilities across distributed services to enhance monitoring, troubleshooting, and service performance insights.
• Partner with engineering leaders, developers, and external vendors to implement platform standards and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.
• Improve cloud operations by strengthening identity and access controls, governance practices, and runtime visibility across AWS-based environments.
• Demonstrated expertise managing production CI/CD systems in environments with significant scale and complexity.
• Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, with Terraform preferred for reusable module development.
• Solid background in DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability management, secrets handling, and policy-as-code implementation.
• Experience designing and operating observability solutions for distributed applications and microservices.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, Kubernetes, Ansible, IAM, networking, and secure cloud architecture principles.
• Proven ability to establish technical standards across multiple engineering teams and guide contributions from third-party partners.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices, toolchain optimization, and operational metrics such as MTTR.

Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, including senior or principal-level ownership.• Demonstrated expertise managing production CI/CD systems in environments with significant scale and complexity.
