Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a complex enterprise technology environment serving the local Minnesota area. This role is ideal for a versatile infrastructure specialist who can work across cloud platforms, virtualization, network services, and core systems operations. The position is fully remote, but candidates must reside in the local metro area and be comfortable managing multi-site infrastructure with a strong focus on reliability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and improve cloud and on-premises infrastructure across enterprise environments, ensuring dependable performance and availability.

• Administer Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services while supporting broader infrastructure initiatives tied to business and technical needs.

• Oversee multi-site, multi-forest Active Directory environments, including policy administration and identity-related services.

• Support virtualization platforms with Nutanix and contribute to the health and scalability of datacenter operations.

• Coordinate patching, endpoint administration, device management, and infrastructure monitoring to maintain secure and stable systems.

• Troubleshoot Windows desktop and server issues at multiple levels of complexity and provide effective resolution across the environment.

• Work with network, cloud, desktop, and server service providers to maintain seamless infrastructure support.

• Contribute to network operations by supporting routing, firewall administration, and Layer 2/Layer 3 connectivity across locations.

• Strengthen infrastructure security by implementing and maintaining logging, alerting, and other operational security tools.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related IT role.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 in enterprise environments. Datacenter ecperience would be ideal.

• Proven background managing Active Directory across complex multi-site or multi-forest deployments, including Group Policy.

• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server platforms and Windows desktop environments.

• Experience with virtualization technologies, primarily Nutanix

• Solid understanding of network infrastructure concepts such as Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, dynamic routing, and firewall management.

• Familiarity with datacenter operations, systems monitoring, patch management, and mobile device management.

• Practical knowledge of IT security practices, including event logging, alerting, and operational safeguards.
