About the Role
We're partnering with a team that is expanding its cloud data capabilities and looking for a Data Engineer to help build the foundation that powers analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making.
This role offers the opportunity to work with large, complex datasets while helping improve how data is collected, organized, and delivered across the business. You'll have a direct impact on the performance, reliability, and scalability of modern data platforms operating in cloud environments.
What You'll Focus On
- Building data solutions that make information more accessible, reliable, and usable for analytics and reporting teams.
- Improving how data moves throughout the organization by creating efficient, automated processes that reduce manual effort and increase consistency.
- Supporting large-scale cloud data environments by enhancing performance, troubleshooting issues, and helping maintain platform stability.
- Partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical data solutions.
- Developing and refining data models that support operational reporting, business intelligence initiatives, and future growth.
- Working with a variety of data sources and formats to ensure information can be used effectively across multiple teams and applications.
- Helping establish data quality standards through validation, monitoring, and ongoing process improvements.
Requirements
This position tends to be a strong fit for professionals who have experience with:
- Cloud-based data engineering and platform development
- Data warehousing and analytics environments
- SQL development and data modeling
- Python-based data processing and automation
- Building and supporting modern ETL or ELT frameworks
- Large-scale data processing technologies such as Hadoop or Cloudera
- Data quality, governance, validation, and performance tuning
Preferred Technical Exposure
Experience with some combination of the following technologies is beneficial:
- AWS services including Glue, Athena, and Redshift
- Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Hive, or EMR
- Kafka or other streaming technologies
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- Linux administration and scripting
- Agile development environments
- AI-assisted development tools
Additional Information
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to meet client background clearance requirements
