ETL Developer

Robert Half is seeking an experienced ETL / XML Data Integration Analyst to support a data transformation and regulatory reporting initiative. This position is 100% Remote and is a 2 month contract with potential to extend longer. Apply today!

Responsibilities

• Extract, transform, and load employee data from CSV and other structured source files.
• Develop processes to transform source data into XML documents that comply with required reporting schemas.
• Perform data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain XML generation processes.
• Validate XML files against defined schemas and resolve data or formatting issues.
• Support successful file generation, delivery, and submission workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify data requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Document ETL processes, transformation rules, data mappings, and validation procedures.
• Identify and troubleshoot data quality and integration issues throughout the reporting process.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with XML development and schema-based XML generation.
• Proven ETL development experience, including transforming structured data into XML.
• Experience with data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and data quality processes.
• Experience working with structured data sources such as CSV files.
• Public sector or government technology experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tax reporting, regulatory reporting, or government compliance initiatives.
• Familiarity with IRS reporting requirements and XML-based filing processes.
• Previous experience creating, validating, or submitting XML files for government agencies.
• Knowledge of data exchange standards and government file submission workflows.
• Experience supporting data transformation projects involving complex reporting schemas.
