Accountabilities: Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business strategy, establish technology standards and governance, and lead modernization across cloud architecture, scalability, performance, security, and engineering practices. Engineering Leadership: Lead and mentor Software Development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams while building a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance. Talent & Organizational Development: Recruit, develop, coach, and retain top technical talent, establish engineering KPIs, and strengthen leadership capabilities across the technology organization. Product Innovation: Partner with Product Management to define technical direction, deliver scalable SaaS solutions, champion customer-focused innovation, and balance technical debt reduction with new product development. AI & Automation: Define the organization’s AI strategy and identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into products and workflows, including technologies such as Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, intelligent automation, and predictive analytics. Infrastructure, Security & Operations: Ensure platform reliability, uptime, disaster recovery, business continuity, cybersecurity, compliance, monitoring, observability, and effective incident response while overseeing cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Product Management, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales, and executive leadership to align technology investments with strategic priorities, while participating in customer meetings, executive presentations, and strategic planning. Operational Excellence: Improve software delivery speed and predictability while maintaining quality, reduce technical debt through disciplined modernization, and establish metrics covering deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, platform availability, MTTR, and customer defect rates. First-Year Impact: Establish a multi-year technology roadmap, advance cloud modernization, introduce meaningful AI-enabled capabilities, improve quality and reliability, strengthen security, accelerate innovation, develop engineering leadership, retain key talent, and build stronger alignment across Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services. Requirements Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience and at least 3 years of experience leading engineering organizations. SaaS & Modernization: Proven experience delivering enterprise SaaS platforms and leading cloud migration, modernization, and large-scale technology transformation initiatives. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, cybersecurity, and scalable system design. Technology Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing engineering budgets, developing technology roadmaps, establishing engineering standards, and translating technical strategy into measurable business outcomes. AI & Emerging Technology: Experience integrating AI and machine learning into commercial software products is preferred, along with familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and modern AI development frameworks. Leadership Skills: Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, executive communication, organizational leadership, change management, coaching, mentoring, ownership, accountability, and data-driven decision-making abilities. Customer Focus: Ability to make customer-first technology decisions and collaborate effectively with Product, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales, and executive stakeholders. Preferred Background: Experience in ERP, logistics, transportation, moving and storage, or field service software is an asset, as is experience within a private equity or software portfolio environment. Additional Qualifications: An MBA or Master’s degree is considered an asset, alongside a strong continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment.
