About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to join us. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Database monitoring, integration, replication, notification, analysis, tuning, problem resolution, reporting and production support
• Performing SQL server software upgrades; service packs and versions including testing and evaluation of patching strategies
• Coordinating with functional DBA's on database operations, hardware architecture, and security
• Creating primary database storage structures, database objects, migration scripts to modify structures and objects
• Designing efficient database architecture and maintain performance and tuning
• Optimizing database performance, security, and user access
• Coordinating allocation of storage and forecasting space requirements
• Identifying long running single queries
• Scheduling, automating, executing and monitoring job and system performance
• Performing capacity planning
• Modifying database structures
• Providing database application support. Schema changes in prod, testing, staging, instances, etc.
• Developing backup and recovery procedures
• Establishing security roles and database access rights and controls
• Identifying blocking transactions when required.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:  Bachelor's Degree

 

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: 

• 5+ years database management and administration experience.
• 1+ years experience with a federal agency or federal contractor
• 3+ years Information Technology Experience 

Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen
