Akamai's Infrastructure Engineering & Operations organization builds and maintains Akamai's Platform - one of the world's largest distributed platforms. Our Server Hardware Engineering team is responsible for designing, qualifying, and testing servers destined for our growing network.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will develop, validate, manage lifecycles, and document Akamai's Server Hardware Platforms for a growing network. Collaborating with vendors, you will evaluate pre-release hardware and provide input on future product designs. Join a team designing servers and developing firmware for a platform with over 300,000 servers across 130 countries.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Qualifying and validating server hardware platforms and components
• Evaluating pre-production hardware and server architectures
• Driving complex hardware and system-level investigations to resolution independently
• Creating and improving validation plans, test methodologies, tools, and technical documentation
• Improving and modifying internal system-level testing frameworks
• Developing and maintaining Python/Bash-based tools for hardware validation, diagnostics, and automation
• Collaborating with OEMs, ODMs, vendors, and internal engineering teams
• Providing technical input into platform and component selection

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of computer architecture and server hardware.
• Have extensive hands-on experience with hardware debugging, validation, and system integration
• Demonstrate expertise in Linux and proficiency utilizing it for engineering, diagnostics, and troubleshooting purposes.
• Have a good understanding of hardware, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, and operating system interactions
• Develop advanced test frameworks and embedded software while supporting hardwaresoftware integration with over three programming experience in Python.
• Demonstrate genuine passion for computers and electronics, with curiosity and willingness to challenge existing approaches
• Be open for hybrid work (3 days on-site a week) in Cracow
• Be able to lift 18 kg independently
