This is an opportunity to shape technical standards while helping public-sector organizations strengthen their security posture Accountabilities: Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the technical SME across managed detection and response, extended detection and response, DNS-layer security, network monitoring, hardened cloud images, secure software and infrastructure offerings, networking, and cloud security. Pre-Sales and Post-Sales Engineering: Lead technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept, onboarding, deployment guidance, escalations, and issue resolution through full closure. Customer Onboarding: Own the technical onboarding experience for assigned accounts, helping accelerate time to value, support customer satisfaction, and protect revenue recognition. Government Sales Support: Partner with Services Account Executives throughout the U.S. government sales cycle, including procurement processes, security reviews, technical evaluations, and deal closure. Customer Lifecycle Management: Work within the CSE/TAM operating model to provide a seamless technical experience from pre-sales through onboarding, adoption, renewal, and expansion. Technical Customer Engagement: Maintain proactive, real-time communication through phone, video, and in-person meetings as needed, building trusted relationships and driving technical issues to resolution. Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a technical team lead by coaching, enabling, and upskilling solutions engineers while broadening team expertise across the managed security services portfolio. Enablement and Documentation: Create enablement materials, runbooks, demonstration environments, and best-practice documentation that improve team capabilities and accelerate ramp-up. Presentations and Demonstrations: Deliver professional technical presentations and demonstrations through virtual platforms, phone-based engagements, and live or virtual conferences, clearly communicating cybersecurity value to diverse audiences. Voice of the Customer: Synthesize customer and field feedback into actionable insights for Product Management, Security Operations, Engineering, and executive leadership. Growth Opportunities: Identify cross-sell and upgrade opportunities, support sales through closure, and develop use cases, case studies, testimonials, and technical recommendations. Account and Opportunity Management: Maintain accurate account contacts, opportunities, and support activity in Salesforce while ensuring timely and effective two-way communication. Industry Representation: Represent the organization in a general capacity and participate in conferences, product meetings, and other external or internal events as required. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent relevant preparation. Cybersecurity Engineering Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical account management within cybersecurity, with demonstrated responsibility across both pre-sales and post-sales environments. Managed Security Services: Deep knowledge of MDR, EDR/XDR/MXDR, NDR/IDS, and DNS-layer security, with direct experience using CrowdStrike Falcon and/or Sophos platforms. Networking and Cloud: Strong network engineering fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and network sensor/IDS deployment, along with working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and secure or hardened cloud image concepts. Public-Sector Knowledge: Understanding of U.S. State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial government environments, procurement processes, and public-sector sales cycles. Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience mentoring, training, coaching, or technically leading other engineers. Customer-First Communication: Proactive and empathetic communication style, with a willingness to engage directly by phone and take ownership of issues through complete resolution across the customer lifecycle. Presentation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct technical remote demonstrations using Microsoft Teams and other real-time applications. Business and Productivity Tools: Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft Office. Working Style: Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with a broader team in a fast-paced environment. Additional Requirements: Ability to travel as needed and authorization to work in the United States. Additional Experience Preferred: Experience supporting U.S. SLTT agencies, nonprofits, or organizations participating in MS-ISAC/EI-ISAC; relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, GIAC, CrowdStrike CCFA/CCFH, Sophos, or cloud certifications; experience with SOC workflows, incident escalation, and vulnerability management; and familiarity with Windows/Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere/Workstation, and scripting. Benefits Compensation: USD $93,300–$163,200 annually, with base salary determined by factors including education, experience, and skills.
