This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Developer based in United States. The Senior Developer will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud-based integration solutions supporting real-time and event-driven data exchange across enterprise systems. This role combines deep AWS expertise with hands-on software engineering, cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and security. You will develop RESTful APIs, cloud-native data solutions, and asynchronous processing architectures using core AWS services. The position plays an important role in delivering secure and compliant systems aligned with enterprise architecture, governance, and ATO requirements. You will collaborate with internal teams and external system owners to define integration patterns, API contracts, and deployment strategies. The role also provides an opportunity to influence technical direction, optimize cloud performance and costs, and mentor junior developers. Accountabilities: Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs using Amazon API Gateway and backend services such as AWS Lambda and EC2 . Build and manage cloud-native data solutions using Amazon RDS , ensuring data integrity, reliability, and appropriate database performance. Develop event-driven architectures using Amazon S3, SQS, and SNS to support asynchronous workflows and file-based processing. Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including IAM roles and policies, VPC configuration, encryption of data at rest and in transit, logging, and audit controls. Ensure cloud solutions align with Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements and applicable security and compliance standards. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external system owners to define integration patterns, API contracts, deployment strategies, and technical requirements. Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform . Monitor system health and performance, identifying opportunities to improve scalability, availability, reliability, and cloud cost efficiency. Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, governance standards, and established engineering practices. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior developers while contributing to a culture of engineering excellence. Support the continuous improvement of cloud integration capabilities and help solve complex technical challenges across enterprise environments. Requirements 15+ years of software development experience, with substantial hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions on AWS . Strong experience with Amazon API Gateway, Lambda, and EC2 , including their use in scalable cloud-based application and integration architectures. Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS , including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle, and a strong understanding of data integrity and reliability. Strong knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous architectures using S3, SQS, and SNS . Deep understanding of cloud architecture, enterprise integration patterns, and the design of secure, scalable, highly available systems. Strong knowledge of AWS networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups . Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, particularly CloudFormation or Terraform . Experience implementing secure and compliant cloud systems, with ATO or FedRAMP experience preferred. Familiarity with monitoring and logging technologies such as Amazon CloudWatch . Understanding of encryption, IAM, audit controls, and other cloud security practices required for enterprise and government environments. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, external system owners, and other stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into practical solutions. Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to mentor less experienced developers. Ability to work within enterprise architecture and governance standards while maintaining a focus on scalability, security, reliability, and operational efficiency. Must be able to meet the requirements for a Public Trust clearance . Benefits Annual salary of $162,000–$177,000 , with compensation determined based on experience, relevant skills, education or training, geographic labor benchmarks, and organizational needs.
