Accountabilities: As a Manager, R&D Data Steward, you will independently lead stewardship activities while strengthening data governance, quality, cataloging, and responsible AI-enabled practices across assigned domains. Interpret complex R&D processes and data flows and translate them into governed metadata, business context, and appropriate quality controls. Serve as the primary stewardship point of contact for assigned R&D data domains and resolve conflicting interpretations with Data Owners and subject matter experts. Lead the implementation of stewardship standards, governance workflows, critical data element practices, and FAIR data principles. Resolve complex stewardship issues and coordinate decisions with Data Owners, SMEs, Privacy, Quality, Data Engineering, Data Modeling, and other stakeholders. Own the curation and quality review of business terms, definitions, aliases, taxonomies, classifications, ownership information, permitted-use requirements, and business descriptions. Drive catalog completeness and consistency within Informatica CDGC while applying ontology and semantic concepts to improve data context. Lead stewardship readiness, certification, publication, lifecycle review, and recertification of assigned data products in Informatica Data Marketplace. Ensure data products contain complete metadata, ownership, business context, quality information, fitness-for-use details, and clear consumer descriptions. Perform and review advanced data profiling, including anomaly detection, key analysis, referential checks, and cross-table relationship discovery. Translate R&D business logic into data-quality rules, thresholds, severity levels, and monitoring expectations. Lead root-cause analysis, disposition, and remediation coordination for significant data-quality issues. Use SQL, Databricks, Python, and PySpark to analyze data and automate profiling, data-quality, metadata, and governance activities. Identify opportunities to automate stewardship workflows and establish appropriate controls and validation processes. Apply approved GenAI, LLM, prompt-engineering, and AI-assisted workflows to cataloging, profiling, metadata, context generation, and data-quality activities. Review AI-generated recommendations, establish appropriate human oversight, and support responsible adoption of AI-agent and semantic use cases. Apply GxP, privacy, sensitivity, retention, data-integrity, and permitted-use requirements while maintaining audit-ready documentation and traceability. Coach less-experienced data stewards, review deliverables, and support capability development through training and demonstrations. Communicate data risks, findings, decisions, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business audiences. Contribute to stewardship metrics, prioritization, standards, operating practices, and continuous improvement. Requirements: The ideal candidate combines strong R&D data stewardship expertise with technical data-management capabilities, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently across complex stakeholder environments. Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Life Sciences, Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience independently delivering data stewardship, metadata and cataloging, data-product management, data profiling, and data-quality activities in complex environments. Strong practical knowledge of R&D data domains and the ability to translate business context into governed metadata and quality controls. Strong working knowledge of Informatica CDGC and Informatica Data Marketplace. Proficiency in SQL and Databricks, with working knowledge of Python and PySpark for analysis and automation. Working knowledge of REST APIs, Git, testing practices, and workflow automation. Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted stewardship, and AI-agent concepts. Working knowledge of ontology, semantic data, knowledge graphs, and RDF/OWL/SPARQL concepts. Understanding of data modeling, data lineage, and Bronze, Silver, and Gold data foundation concepts. Working knowledge of GxP, privacy, data integrity, and regulated data-management practices. Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, coaching, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with Data Owners, R&D SMEs, Data Engineering, Data Modeling, Analytics, and governance teams. Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, analytical thinking, continuous-learning mindset, and ability to manage priorities independently. Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Minimal travel required. Benefits: Annual salary range of $123,200–$163,200, with final compensation based on factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, training, and work location.
