Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance, low-latency backend services using Java and AWS technologies. Collaborate with product management, frontend, QA, and other cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver integrated solutions. Optimize existing services for performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and efficient resource utilization. Identify system bottlenecks and proactively resolve technical issues affecting stability or performance. Implement and maintain software engineering best practices covering code quality, automated testing, deployment, and CI/CD. Monitor backend service health and performance, investigate incidents, and take preventive or corrective action when required. Contribute to distributed systems and microservices architecture using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and ClickHouse. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of professional backend software development experience, with strong expertise in Java and AWS. Demonstrated experience building and operating high-scale, low-latency services in distributed environments. Strong knowledge of Java and its ecosystem, including relevant frameworks and development practices. Experience with microservices architecture, containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and distributed data systems such as Kafka and ClickHouse. Familiarity with RESTful API design and secure software development practices. Experience with CI/CD and development tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Gradle. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative software delivery. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging abilities, with close attention to technical detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. For Staff-level scope, the ability to provide technical direction, influence engineering decisions, and mentor other developers is important.
