This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and operating secure, scalable cloud environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will own the cloud engineering lifecycle, from landing-zone architecture and infrastructure-as-code through migration, operations, and optimization. The position combines deep OCI expertise with DevOps, automation, security, networking, database, and observability capabilities. You will collaborate closely with application, database, security, and engineering teams supporting mission-critical Oracle and non-Oracle workloads. You will also contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, operational automation, and cloud governance. You will own the cloud engineering lifecycle, from landing-zone architecture and infrastructure-as-code through migration, operations, and optimization. The position combines deep OCI expertise with DevOps, automation, security, networking, database, and observability capabilities. You will collaborate closely with application, database, security, and engineering teams supporting mission-critical Oracle and non-Oracle workloads. A key focus will be building resilient platforms while improving reliability, security, performance, and cloud cost efficiency. You will also contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, operational automation, and cloud governance. As a senior technical contributor, you will mentor engineers and help establish scalable cloud engineering practices across the organization. Accountabilities Architect, deploy, and operate enterprise-grade OCI landing zones, compartments, and tenancy structures aligned with governance and compliance requirements. Design and implement OCI networking architectures, including VCNs, subnets, gateways, FastConnect, IPSec VPN, and DRG-based hub-and-spoke configurations. Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and OCI Resource Manager, incorporating version control, peer review, and automated validation. Implement IAM policies, identity federation, and robust role-based access control using OCI Identity Domains. Design, deploy, and operate OCI compute and storage services, including virtual machines, bare metal, OKE, Object Storage, Block Volume, File Storage, and Archive Storage. Support OCI database environments, including Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud, MySQL HeatWave, and Base Database, in partnership with database teams. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OCI DevOps or external platforms such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Implement monitoring and observability using OCI Monitoring, Logging, APM, and third-party observability platforms. Drive cloud cost optimization through workload right-sizing, lifecycle management, and architectural simplification. Design disaster recovery and business continuity solutions across OCI regions and availability domains. Strengthen cloud security using OCI Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, and Data Safe, while leading remediation of identified findings. Advise application teams on OCI-native architecture patterns, engineering practices, and cloud adoption strategies. Develop automation using Python, Bash, and Terraform to reduce operational effort and improve platform reliability. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal cloud communities and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, including substantial hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Production-level experience designing and managing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform. Strong hands-on knowledge of OCI compute, networking, storage, identity, and database services. Experience deploying and operating Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE). Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure and application workloads. Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and Bash. Deep understanding of cloud security, IAM, governance, and compliance requirements. Experience with cloud observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response. Strong technical communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with application, database, security, and infrastructure teams. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional certification is preferred. Experience operating Exadata Cloud or Autonomous Database at scale is preferred. Exposure to multi-cloud environments involving OCI and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus. Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization is beneficial. Experience supporting regulated workloads on OCI is advantageous.
