This is a remote-friendly environment suited to an experienced infrastructure engineer who thrives on autonomy, collaboration, and solving ambiguous problems. Accountabilities: Own and continuously evolve architecture within a defined infrastructure domain, ensuring systems remain scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with technical standards. Design, implement, and support production infrastructure spanning multiple teams, environments, and locations. Establish and promote reusable engineering patterns, operational standards, and best practices across the infrastructure domain. Contribute to medium- and long-term technical strategy, typically covering a 6–18 month planning horizon. Lead complex, ambiguous, and high-impact infrastructure initiatives from problem definition through implementation and delivery. Drive migrations, re-architectures, performance improvements, reliability initiatives, and other major infrastructure transformations. Remain hands-on with critical systems and actively contribute to implementation rather than focusing solely on architectural design. Collaborate across IT, SRE, Security, and Service Owner teams to align technical decisions and ensure clean integration across office, data center, and cloud environments. Improve system reliability through effective monitoring, alerting, operational design, capacity planning, and service-level practices. Help define and maintain appropriate SLIs and SLOs and participate in root cause analysis for complex incidents. Reduce operational toil by developing automation, improving systems, and introducing repeatable approaches to infrastructure management. Design and support core infrastructure components including compute, DNS, networking, identity, and related services. Apply deep expertise in at least one infrastructure area while maintaining broad knowledge across adjacent systems and technologies. Build and improve automation through scripting and Infrastructure as Code and contribute to internal tooling and platform enhancements. Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, participate in design reviews, and raise engineering quality through knowledge sharing. Maintain clear system documentation, architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and other resources that enable teams to operate infrastructure effectively. Serve as a trusted technical resource within the assigned domain and help drive alignment through influence and collaboration. Requirements: 6+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical field. Strong experience designing, implementing, and operating production infrastructure at scale. Hands-on expertise with VMware, Cisco UCS, application and network load balancers, and Linux/Unix operating systems. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and data center environments. Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives that span multiple teams and require coordination across different infrastructure environments. Experience taking ownership of infrastructure systems or architecture within a defined technical domain. Ability to solve loosely defined, high-impact problems and translate complex systems challenges into practical, implementable solutions. Strong technical communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build alignment without relying on formal authority. Experience balancing deep technical expertise in one area with broad competency across adjacent infrastructure systems. Strong hands-on engineering mindset, with a willingness to design, implement, troubleshoot, and improve critical systems directly. Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or comparable technologies is preferred. Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation is preferred. Familiarity with observability tools, monitoring, alerting, and modern reliability engineering practices. Experience with containerization and contemporary platform engineering technologies is a plus. Understanding of infrastructure security principles and secure systems design. Experience administering GitHub Enterprise is a bonus, including user access management, organization and repository management, SSO/SCIM integration, and policy enforcement. Strong mentoring, documentation, troubleshooting, and knowledge-sharing abilities. Ability to work effectively in a distributed, cross-functional environment while maintaining ownership of critical technical outcomes. Benefits: Competitive U.S. salary ranges based on location tier: US Tier 1: $163,000–$218,000 USD. US Tier 2: $150,000–$200,000 USD. US Tier 3: $139,000–$185,000 USD. Performance-based bonus opportunities for eligible employees. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. Generous retirement contributions with 100% immediate vesting, regardless of employee contributions. Quarterly company-wide wellness days. Country-specific paid holidays plus a day off for your birthday. One-time home office stipend to support a productive remote workspace. Annual professional development budget. Quarterly well-being stipend. Substantial paid parental leave. Employee referral bonus program. Additional benefits such as life and AD&D insurance, disability coverage, and employee assistance programs, subject to applicable location. Remote-friendly work environment. Opportunity to influence infrastructure architecture and reliability across a broad technical organization. Significant scope for technical leadership, mentorship, and cross-team impact.
