Accountabilities Contribute to the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for an enterprise lakehouse built around medallion architecture principles and aligned with operational, clinical, financial, and safety requirements. Direct engineering activities spanning data ingestion, transformation, storage, optimization, and movement within the Enterprise Data Lake. Oversee data platform performance, quality, reliability, security, and lifecycle management across multiple data domains. Ensure scalable data engineering pipelines are designed and delivered in accordance with enterprise data governance standards. Act as a subject matter expert in enterprise data delivery, ensuring data products and services support strategic business priorities. Lead cross-functional prioritization, planning, and delivery processes to ensure consistent and timely outcomes. Establish transparent communication around data technology strategies, roadmaps, priorities, and delivery progress. Build, lead, mentor, and develop global data engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and strong delivery practices. Develop organizational capabilities across cloud engineering, Azure Databricks, CI/CD, SQL, Python, and modern data engineering practices. Promote a culture centered on innovation, operational rigor, reliability, collaboration, and customer-focused delivery. Drive effective solutions to complex data and business challenges while balancing technical requirements, resources, timelines, and organizational priorities. Requirements 12+ years of IT experience developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise integration services and platforms across diverse hardware and software environments. 8+ years of experience leading teams responsible for data delivery, management, integration, and analytics, including major enterprise-scale initiatives. 6+ years of management experience, including leading technical personnel across multiple project lifecycle stages and cross-functional environments. Demonstrated experience successfully developing and implementing applications within modern or emerging computing architectures using innovative technologies. Experience managing financial and technical resources across multiple projects while delivering against organizational goals. Exposure to Real-World Data (RWD) within clinical, healthcare, or medical environments. Experience working within a GxP-regulated life sciences environment is advantageous. Extensive experience implementing and supporting enterprise data initiatives on cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and Azure Databricks. Strong hands-on experience with medallion architecture-based data lake or lakehouse implementations. Advanced SQL expertise, including query development and performance tuning; strong SQL querying and query optimization skills are mandatory. Proficiency in Python, relational databases, data transformation technologies, modern data management and data-sharing tools, and contemporary development frameworks. Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture, application design principles, technical estimation, and architectural best practices. Proven ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable, effective technical solutions. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities.
