This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Member of Technical Staff based in India. This role offers the opportunity to join an Engineering Operations team focused on maintaining, improving, and expanding critical engineering applications. You will take primary responsibility for GitLab while also supporting other development and collaboration platforms used by engineering teams. The position combines application administration, technical support, automation, infrastructure collaboration, and software engineering practices. You will work directly with internal customers to resolve issues, improve application capabilities, and contribute to global infrastructure and development initiatives. The role also provides opportunities to guide junior team members and contribute to technical and design reviews. This is a fully remote position supporting teams in the United States and requires working on a Pacific Time Zone schedule. Accountabilities: Support, administer, maintain, and expand GitLab and other engineering applications used across the organization. Manage GitLab capabilities including Agile planning, CI/CD pipelines, user and group administration, projects, and API integrations. Work directly with internal customers to investigate application issues, provide technical support, and deliver effective solutions. Support additional engineering applications and platforms, including Confluence, CodeCollaborator, and other tools as required. Participate in global infrastructure and software development projects, contributing technical expertise to implementation and improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain automation and integrations using Python, Shell scripting, REST APIs, and related technologies. Support Jenkins administration and Kubernetes development activities within the engineering environment. Monitor application and infrastructure health using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and other monitoring and logging platforms. Troubleshoot technical issues across applications, infrastructure, integrations, and development workflows using strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and process knowledge to junior members of the team. Participate in code reviews and design reviews to help maintain quality, reliability, and consistency across technical solutions. Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders across regions to understand requirements and continuously improve application capabilities. Contribute to application maintenance, process improvements, and operational practices that enhance reliability and user experience. Work independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration within a globally distributed engineering environment. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline. 8–12 years of overall professional experience in software, engineering operations, application support, infrastructure, or a related technical field. At least 5 years of experience supporting and expanding GitLab, including Agile planning, CI/CD pipelines, administration of users, groups, and projects, and strong familiarity with GitLab APIs. 3–5 years of experience in frontline application support and direct interaction with internal customers or users. 3–5 years of Linux experience, with system administration experience considered an advantage. Approximately 5 years of Jenkins administration experience. Approximately 5 years of Kubernetes development experience. Strong programming and scripting capabilities using Python, Shell, REST APIs, or comparable technologies. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or similar platforms. Familiarity with MySQL and PostgreSQL is a plus. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues methodically. Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and learn new technologies and processes quickly. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to listen carefully and understand user and stakeholder needs. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with distributed engineering teams. Comfortable providing technical guidance and supporting less experienced team members. Willingness and ability to work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time , corresponding to a night-shift schedule in India. Benefits: Fully remote working arrangement in India.
