Accountabilities Design, build, and evolve core platform services and capabilities that power the developer experience. Create new platform capabilities that enable external developers to build high-quality, useful, and engaging applications. Lead large-scale technical initiatives from early exploration and architecture through development, experimentation, launch, and ongoing improvement. Contribute across backend, infrastructure, client, and full-stack components to deliver cohesive developer platform experiences. Design and implement systems and tools that establish the foundation for future developer experiences. Review and provide thoughtful feedback on code, technical designs, product specifications, and user experiences. Help define the technical strategy and long-term direction of the developer platform. Partner with engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate ambitious ideas into reliable products and scalable technical solutions. Mentor engineers, share knowledge, raise engineering standards, and contribute to a culture of collaboration, ownership, and high-quality execution. Requirements 6+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, application platforms, or related areas. Proven experience leading large-scale technical projects from architecture and design through successful delivery. Strong backend or platform engineering expertise, combined with the ability and willingness to contribute across the technology stack. Experience with one or more relevant technologies such as C++, Java, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React. Experience building production-grade software and architecting technical solutions of moderate to high complexity. Demonstrated ability to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of daily development workflows to improve productivity, engineering quality, and software delivery. A strong track record of mentoring engineers and helping improve software engineering practices and technical standards. Entrepreneurial and self-directed mindset, with curiosity, strong ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and a willingness to turn ideas into action. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a fully distributed engineering environment. Passion for building high-quality software and developer experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and enjoyable to use. Contributions to open-source projects are a plus. Experience building applications using the Devvit platform is a plus. Benefits Base salary range of $217,000–$303,900 USD . Equity eligibility in the form of restricted stock units.
