The Senior Data Technologist will play a key role in evolving a modern data platform that enables trusted, timely, and high-quality information for business decision-making. Accountabilities: Research and implement emerging data, analytics, automation, and AI technologies to support evolving business and data demands. Design, develop, and oversee scalable processes for cleansing, transforming, loading, enriching, and curating data using big-data techniques and modern cloud technologies. Leverage Microsoft Azure and Fabric capabilities to automate processes, reduce manual effort, and improve the speed and reliability of data delivery. Ensure that data platform technologies and assets remain consistent, scalable, usable, secure, and aligned with established architectural standards. Design and oversee mechanisms that enable data from edge systems to flow effectively into business and analytics environments. Analyze business and technical requirements and recommend solutions for extracting, loading, and managing data at scale. Define and evolve standards, processes, and practices that support and extend a Medallion-based data architecture. Design and implement processes and technologies that support information protection and data governance strategies. Enable enterprise and departmental projects by extending data-flow architecture, improving request processes, and supporting deployment activities. Participate in architectural governance activities by providing technical guidance, recommendations, and solution assessments. Administer Microsoft Fabric infrastructure and Azure Platform-as-a-Service analytics services used across the data environment. Investigate recurring failures, support requests, and incidents, recommending improvements and collaborating with senior engineers and support partners on complex technical issues. Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and provide support for escalations when required. Requirements: You bring a minimum of 10 years of general information systems experience, including at least 10 years supporting and developing data, reporting, and analytics platforms within medium-to-large organizations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You have strong experience with Microsoft Azure resources, resource groups, identity and permissions, cost analysis, automation accounts, Log Analytics, alerts, and related cloud administration capabilities. You have experience across Azure data technologies such as Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure Synapse Link, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, Delta Lake, Logic Apps, and Power Apps. You have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Notebooks, Pipelines, Lakehouses, Functions, and environment administration. You have advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, Scala, KQL, DAX, Azure Automation Accounts, Logic Apps, Power Apps, and the broader Power Platform. You have a strong understanding of incremental loading patterns and the ability to extend, optimize, and improve those patterns. You have working knowledge of Git, including branches, commits, pull requests, and merges. You have experience working in Agile development environments, with Azure DevOps experience in areas such as intake, backlog management, project delivery, and sprint activities being highly desirable. You stay informed about emerging technologies in the business intelligence, analytics, and Azure ecosystem and can independently learn new technologies, programming languages, and APIs. You can quickly understand business challenges and apply unfamiliar tools or techniques to develop effective solutions. You demonstrate strong customer empathy and can balance stakeholder needs with the priorities and capabilities of the technical team. You are comfortable coaching, educating, and inspiring business users to strengthen their own analytics capabilities. You hold a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in computer science or a related field, or have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. You have strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-learning skills, with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. You are comfortable working occasional evenings or weekends and participating in an after-hours on-call support rotation.
