The position combines technical production, quality assurance, automation, and problem-solving within a multidisciplinary consulting environment. Accountabilities: Process and classify topographic and bathymetric LiDAR data, including point-cloud grounding, building classification, vegetation classification, and filtering. Analyze and review LiDAR, 2D and 3D vector data, DEMs, DSMs, hydrography, and derivative geospatial products. Develop scripts, models, and macros across GIS and remote sensing platforms to support production and automation. Perform relative and absolute LiDAR adjustments, including calibration, alignment, and registration. Conduct rigorous QA/QC of processed datasets and mapping products to verify accuracy, quality, and compliance with client specifications. Create digital mapping and remotely sensed products using a range of software platforms. Collaborate with Product Line Leads and project teams to deliver assignments on schedule and within budget. Support improvements to automated production and quality-control processes. Manage assigned tasks, troubleshoot technical issues, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant GIS or remote sensing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience processing elevation data and creating or manipulating elevation models, hydrography datasets, or other remotely sensed data, including development and QA/QC. Strong understanding of GIS, LiDAR, elevation data, raster and vector formats, coordinate systems, projections, and datums. In-depth knowledge of ESRI technologies, including ArcGIS 10.x, ArcGIS Pro, and geodatabases. Experience with LiDAR production workflows, point-cloud analysis, acquisition and processing concepts, and deliverable creation. Experience with LiDAR swath calibration tools such as Bayes Strip Align, TerraSolid TerraMatch, or Teledyne Optech Lidar Mapping Suite is an advantage. Familiarity with Python or other programming languages, GDAL tools, command-line applications, and GIS automation is beneficial. Experience with hydrography, flood mapping, H&H modeling, USGS 3DEP, USGS 3DHP, NOAA Coastal Mapping Program, or similar national elevation and hydrology programs is a plus. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and specifications, including ASPRS positional accuracy standards and USGS LiDAR specifications, is desirable. GISP or ASPRS certifications in LiDAR or remote sensing are a plus. Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Access. Benefits: Annual salary range of $69,000–$88,000 , with the range potentially varying based on skills, experience, location, market conditions, and other factors.
