Our partner is looking for an Azure Architect / Coach - Managed Services based in the United States. The Azure Architect / Coach will serve as a senior technical advisor helping enterprise customers design, secure, modernize, and operate Microsoft Azure environments. This role combines deep cloud architecture expertise with hands-on knowledge of managed services and production operations. You will guide customers through cloud strategy, governance, security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization initiatives. The position offers significant exposure to enterprise-scale architectures spanning networking, identity, infrastructure, automation, and cloud-native platforms. You will work directly with executives, architects, engineers, and delivery teams to translate complex technical challenges into practical business outcomes. Beyond customer engagements, you will coach technical professionals and contribute to standards, tools, processes, and service offerings. Accountabilities Act as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise customers, guiding Azure strategy, architecture, governance, modernization, security, and operational maturity. Lead architecture discussions and solution reviews across Azure networking, identity, security, governance, compute, storage, monitoring, and platform services. Design and review enterprise Azure architectures involving Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, private endpoints, load balancing, DNS, and other core services. Help customers establish scalable Azure Landing Zones and governance frameworks using Management Groups, Azure Policy, tagging strategies, and related controls. Provide technical leadership for managed environments by assessing performance, reliability, security, resilience, observability, and cost optimization opportunities. Guide the use of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery to strengthen operational visibility and business continuity. Lead complex troubleshooting, major incident reviews, root cause analyses, and operational improvement initiatives across networking, identity, infrastructure, security, and platform services. Advise customers on Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Zero Trust security principles. Champion Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, PowerShell, and Azure CLI, alongside Azure DevOps and GitHub-based delivery practices. Support cloud modernization initiatives involving Azure SQL, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure Container Registry, Azure Data Factory, App Service, Event Grid, Service Bus, and other Azure-native technologies. Conduct architecture assessments, Azure Well-Architected Framework reviews, cloud health assessments, executive briefings, and technical workshops. Mentor consultants and engineers, promote technical best practices, and contribute to operational standards, tools, templates, runbooks, and managed services improvements. Collaborate across delivery, security, support, and operations teams while managing competing priorities and maintaining a high standard of customer service. Requirements 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, or technology consulting. 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating Microsoft Azure environments. Proven expertise architecting enterprise-scale Azure solutions across networking, identity, security, governance, compute, storage, monitoring, and platform services. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud security practices. Experience designing hybrid-cloud, multi-subscription, multi-region, and highly available architectures using technologies such as ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, private endpoints, load balancing, and DNS. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, PowerShell, and/or Azure CLI. Strong understanding of cloud operations, observability, incident management, root cause analysis, change management, IT service management, and managed services delivery. Experience leading customer-facing architecture engagements and communicating effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executives. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Required Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification. At least one additional relevant certification, such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500). Strong consulting, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to move comfortably between executive-level strategy discussions and detailed technical problem-solving. Preferred experience within a Microsoft-focused consulting organization or systems integrator and/or delivering Azure managed services for enterprise customers. Preferred knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, Azure Well-Architected Framework, Cloud FinOps, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, Microsoft Sentinel, security operations, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, ITIL, and ITSM platforms. Additional preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300).
